Patrick's Food Ramblings - A real "kitchen garden"

The AeroGarden is a little self-contained hydroponic growing system designed to sit on your kitchen counter along with other appliances. It’s a pretty interesting idea. They have seed packs for things like salad greens, chili peppers, herbs, and cherry tomatoes along with flowers, etc. For $150 it’s not the kind of thing I’d jump into right away. Rainy Day Magazine has a blow by blow on actually growing with one, so I’ll check back to see how it works for them.

It’s a pretty neat idea to be able to grow food indoors. Since I don’t have a yard anymore, it’d be fun to grow stuff inside.

Hello Patrick
I came across your site today when I was looking for fellow Food History bloggers. I have been writing 400 words each weekday on a topic related specifically to the day (I have a monstrous Food History Almanac permanently in progress), and I always include a historic recipe - anything from 14thC onwards. I have been emailing them to friends and family for months, but a couple of weeks ago at my son's insistence, and in spite of minimalist technical skills, I now have a blog. I have posted all my little stories since Oct31 st.
I would love you to have a look and tell me what you think - there aren't many food blogs with a history slant.

I'm not sure how the comment below relates to the AeroGarden, but if you are looking for more information on the product there is a ton at the Hydroponic Home Garden.com (www.hydroponic-home-garden.com). They exclusively sell the AeroGarden, and there is a ton of information about the technology behind it. It's pretty interesting stuff.
